SCVO is operating the national Coronavirus Third Sector Information Hub: https://scvo.org.uk/support/coronavirus

Many small and community based heritage organisations come under the umbrella of “third sector” (wider community and voluntary sector and social enterprises).

There is a £350m Scottish Government funding and support package being rolled out and the first fund to open is the Third Sector Resilience Fund (TSRF) https://scvo.org.uk/support/coronavirus/funding/for-organisations/third-sector-resilience-fund

There will be other funds opening shortly including the “Supporting Communities Fund” and “Well-being Fund”.

The TSRF is offering 3 levels of financial support and is aimed at helping organisations at risk of closure (through Coronavirus impacts) to continue existing services in the short term.

The simplest level of application is up to £25,000 grant and there is an online application form. Be prepared to answer questions on:

    1. What does the organisation achieve (TIP: focus on benefits to people)
    2. What is your organisation’s current financial position and where does your funding or income normally come from
    3. What is your plan to move the organisation forward over the next few months and what steps have you already taken to adjust (TIP: including continuing to engage with people remotely / digitally / through social media to keep projects, activities or research going)
    4. What funding do you need, for what costs, over the next few months.

With the application, you would need to attach and send:

    a) Information on historic / current financial position
    b) A bank statement
    c) Your legal / governing document (e.g. constitution, memorandum / articles).

Just let me know if you would like some help (free of charge) to apply.
